Phrygian Dominant
Phrygian Dominant is the Phrygian Mode with a Major Third (3), now making it a Major scale. It’s also the fifth mode of the Harmonic Minor scale and contains the same three semitone gap, only now between the second and third scale degrees, giving it an even more exotic feel.
Like the Phrygian mode, exotic with a middle-eastern flavour is the sound of the Phrygian Dominant scale with added interest from the wide three semitone gap between the second and third scale degrees.
Phrygian Dominant is used extensively in Flamenco and Middle Eastern music, as well as Rock and Metal.
