The Dorian Mode
Minor in tonality with a Minor Third (♭3) - generally dark yet with a litle brightness from the Major Sixth (6)
Get to the Dorian Mode by either:
- Adding a Major Second (2) and Major Sixth (6) to the Minor Pentatonic Scale,
- take the Natural Minor scale and raise the sixth (♭6 ➔ 6) scale degree,
- start on the second degree of the Major Scale and adjust the key,
- start on the fourth degree of the Minor Scale and adjust the key.
